A Tanzania safari circuit to Ngorongoro Crater, The Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Tarangire National Park ,Olduvai Gorge, Arusha and Mt Kilimanjaro National park in Nortrhern Tanzania

3 DAYS-LAKE MANYARA-NGORONGORO-TARANGIRE TANZANIA SAFARI

Tarangire Sopa LodgeDAY 1: Board shuttle bus at 08:00 hrs to the border town of Namanga where you will clear customs and immigration formalities. Proceed into Tanzania to Arusha town. On arrival you will be dropped at your hotel for overnight.

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA.
Depart from Arusha at 09:30hrs for Lake Manyara arriving in good time for lunch. After Lunch explore Lake Manyara National Park which covers an area of only 318 sq km its terrain is so diverse that its mammal and bird lists are most impressive. The park includes much of Lake Manyara, some 60 km (38 miles) long as well as the Rift Valley escarpment. The park is well known for its tree climbing lions which can be found lazing on branches of the acacia trees. In addition there are good numbers of elephants, big herd of buffalo and plenty of leopard. The lake is a favorite place for pink flamingos and wading birds in general. This area is home to the Masai people whom you will see  as you pass through the villages. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 3: NGORONGORO
After early breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro crater with game drive enroute; where you descend 2000ft for a fascinating game drive on the crater floor. In a landscape reminiscent of the volcanic upheavals of the Rift Valley, the world's largest unbroken, un flooded volcanic caldera (collapsed cone of a volcano) covers 300 sq km In this restricted space, exceptional climatic conditions have favoured an explosion of animal life. Some 20,000 great mammals are permanently in residence, as there are permanent water springs here there is no need to migrate.  Picnic lunch will be served. Enjoy game viewing at the crater until late in the afternoon when you ascend back to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: TARANGIRE
After breakfast depart Ngorongoro for a half-day game drive in the Tarangire National Park. Many of the animals congregate around the only source of permanent water in the park, the Tarangire River. This is the best place in Tanzania to see really big herds of elephants of up to 300 at a time on safari.

After lunch drive back to Arusha. On your arrival you will be dropped at your hotel for overnight.

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA

Serengeti National ParkAfter breakfast depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunch. Manyara is a birding paradise (more than 380 species), especially for waterfowl and migrants, and the forests are one of the best places around to see leopards. Lions hunt on the grassy shores of the lake, and were once known for their habit of climbing trees. Overnight at the Camp site or Lodge

DAY 3:  MANYARA/ SERENGETI

After breakfast, leave Lake Manyara National Park and proceed to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge.  Olduvai Gorge, revered by anthropologists worldwide since 1959, when Mary Leakey discovered an early human skull reputed to be 1.7 million years old. Continue to Tanzania’s most famous game park, Serengeti National Park. On the seemingly endless and almost treeless plains are literally millions of hoofed animals, constantly on the move in search of grassland.  Picnic lunch is served.  Take a game drive in the evening towards the Camp site or Lodge for dinner and overnight. 

DAY 4:SERENGETI

After breakfast, Morning games drive. Enjoy the endless plains of Serengeti with game viewing, encountering one of the most incredible sights you will ever see. An unending stream of wildebeest pour across the plains, while a parade of hungry Predators lion, leopard and cheetah anxiously try to prey upon the youngest or weakest members of the herd. Picnic Lunch is served, afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Campsite / Lodge. 

DAY 5: SERENGETI / NGORONGORO

After breakfast, game drive enroute towards Ngorongoro Crater with parked lunch. Continue on to Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s best-known wildlife-viewing areas, and one of the largest crater basins in the world. Descend by to the crater’s grassland floor, 2,000 feet below the forested rim. Here, experience spectacular game runs and view animals such as lion, elephant, wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, rhino and thousands of flamingoes wading in Lake Magadi. the soda lake at the crater’s base. Game viewing until late in the afternoon when you ascend back to the camp/lodge at the Crater Rim for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: NGORONGORO

 After breakfast, descend once again to the Crater floor for morning game drive to the crater floor with picnic lunches. This most spectacular of the African game reserve contains one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania with over 35,000 animals living within the crater, including wildebeest, elephants, lion, dik dik and war-hog; whilst on the lake side there are pelicans, ibis and flamingoes. Spend the afternoon at the Crater, in the evening drive back to Arusha.


 6 DAYS  LAKE MANYARA / NGORONGORO / SERENGETI

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA
After breakfast, leave for Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive with picnic lunch. Lake Manyara a birdwatcher’s paradise. Marvel at the variety of species, spoonbill, teal, pelican, kingfisher, hornbill and cormorant. In the tall trees, forest monkeys leap from branch to branch on the slope of the Great Rift escarpment, elephants stand in the shade of the baobab; and in the acacia woodland, lions lie draped along the branches of the umbrella trees Dinner and overnight at Camp Site / Lodge.

DAY 3:LAKE MANYARA /SERENGETI
After breakfast leave Lake Manyara National Park and proceed to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai George with picnic lunch, arriving in the afternoon. Take a game drive to this park with immense herds of herbivore, wildebeests, gazelles and Zebras followed by predators on their annual migration to permanent water holes, offering a timeless spectacle unequalled in the world. Dinner and overnight campsite / Lodge.

Morning games drive after breakfast. Enjoy the endless plains of Serengeti with game viewing, A magnificent experience awaits as you travel to the most famous wildlife park in Africa the legendary Serengeti. Here you might have the chance to see “the migration,” where thousands of zebra and wildebeest make the trip from the Masai Mara every year. Packed lunch is served and proceed for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Camp Site / Lodge.

DAY 5: SERENGETI / NGORONGORO
After breakfast, game drive enroute towards Ngorongoro Crater with packed lunch.  On arrival, descend down to the crater one of the largest intact volcanic Caldera in the world, the crater floor offers game viewing to homely permanent population of more than 30 000 animals, and is one of the only places in Africa where you stand a very good chance of seeing the “big five” (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) in the course of a morning or evening’s game drive. Dinner and Overnight at the crater ream Camp Site / Lodge. 

DAY 6: FULL DAY NGORONGORO
Descend once again down to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the wonders of the natural world. An extinct volcano that collapsed around 25 million years ago thus forming a vast super bowl where the largest permanent concentration of African game is on display. The views from the top of the crater wall are absolutely breathtaking which are forested but four wheel drive vehicles will take you down into this primeval paradise of woodland, lake, river, swamp and plain that shelters around 20,000 animals. Large grazing animals such as wildebeest, buffalo, gazelle and zebra that depends on the open grasslands in the crater. Attracting predators, the black-maned lion, the leopard and hyena. The elephant found are the lone males. The Fever Tree forests shelter monkeys, bushbuck and waterbuck and the few black rhino that have taken refuge here. A soda lake attracts water birds, including flamingoes and is a favourite place for predators to make their kill. Wildly beautiful as it is, it is not surprising that Ngorongoro Crater has been called a Garden of Eden. The game drives are done with packed lunch.. Dinner and overnight at the Camp Site / Lodge.

DAY 7: NGORONGORO/TARANGIRE
After breakfast, game drive enroute for Tarangire National Park. In the afternoon you'll be taken on a game drive through the park. Many of the animals congregate around the only source of permanent water in the park, the Tarangire River. This is the best place in Tanzania to see really big herds of elephants of up to 300 at a time on safari. After the safari drive back to Arusha where you will be dropped at your hotel for overnight.
